How to Track Mosquito Control Revenue by Route and Program Type

Mosquito control revenue has a distinct seasonal shape that requires active management during peak months. Revenue ramps in April and May as the season opens, peaks in June and July when all enrolled customers are simultaneously active, then tapers in August and September as the season closes and some customers reach their last treatment. Understanding where in that curve your business actually is โ€” and whether your routing and enrollment decisions are tracking against plan โ€” requires revenue visibility at the route level, not just as an end-of-month total.

Pre-Route Revenue: The Decision Tool

The most actionable revenue number in a mosquito business isn't last month's total โ€” it's today's expected route revenue before the trucks leave. Seasonal Revenue Forecasting From the Waiting List

Looking at the full waiting list at the start of a week โ€” all due mosquito accounts across the next 5 business days โ€” gives a weekly revenue forecast. 65 accounts due at $85 each is $5,525 in planned weekly revenue. Comparing this forecast against the historical weekly revenue target allows the owner to see weeks where demand is light (maybe a holiday week where some treatments were pushed to the following week) and weeks where demand is heavy (post-weather catch-up weeks).
